I'm Dr. Tana Tan.
I am a mechanical and biomedical engineer with over eight years of consulting experience and practice in the area of transport and road safety. My Ph.D. research, completed in March 2017, contributed to developing a better understanding of the aetiology of thoracic injuries in passenger vehicle rollover crashes.
My interest in engineering, biomechanics of injury, automotive safety and how these three fields can be combined to reduce injuries and fatalities has been an interest of mine for many years.
Engineering should be performed not just to advance our society in high-income countries but also to assist the disadvantaged, alleviate poverty and reduce suffering in low- and middle-income countries.
